TRANSGENIC PLANT EDUCATION PROJECT_BSM4502

          In this week of class, we discussed about the schools that we want to invite. We listed all the schools that probably may accept the invitation from us to take the opportunity for their student about sciences especially plant sciences. Our most priority schools was the adopted schools that always accepting the invitation from our faculty. The schools are SMK Jalan 3, SMK Sri Serdang and SMK Seri Kembangan.           After deciding the schools, we try to make a contact with them as soon as possible so it would lesser the burden for us. The many the schools, the easier for us to have a backup plan because we have to complete this CBL project to gain the marks.          While deciding the schools to be invited, we are also have an additional discussion regarding the e-portfolio via online blog that need to be done as the reflective journal as well as reports of progression for the CBLs’.

        This is our first presentation week after all discussion about activities that we want to conduct for the student. We are actually been informed by Dr. Baity that we need to presenting the activities that we have chosen for the GMOs project activity as well as give an update regarding the progression of the CBL project.          In the presentation, we have proposed four activities that we want to do for the students in this CBL project which is follows the topics from our first lecture. While presenting the ideas of activities, Dr. Baity gives us her feedback to improves some of it as well as give an additional to the activities.          The reason why Dr. Baity wants us to present the selected activities is because she considered it as an early proposal to her so she can understand the objective of each of the activities proposed to her.         For this week of class, regarding to the CBL project, we discussed more on this GMOs project activities that need to be prepared to the secondary school students. The activities should be related on the GMOs producing and the product.         While in the discussion with the lecturer, one by one we shout out the idea of the activities that we suggest and some of the idea was rejected with some reason it was not suitable for the students who never know about GMOs.         As we busy with brainstorming about the activities that needs to be done on the project’s day, Dr Baity inform that first year student will be participating us on completing this CBL project.         This is where Dr Baity informed that we don’t have Test 1 for this course subject, but we need to do a Community Based Learning (CBL) project in order to get the marks. The project will be held on last of this semester.        The CBL project was about Genetically Modified Organisms or GMOs. Basically the project is aiming to educate students about some facts about GMOs product especially. We targeting for secondary school students. The reason why do we need to run these types of project is because one of the objectives is to explain and give awareness about GMOs also settled misunderstanding about GMOs confusion in real world.         As a conclusion, this CBL project is one of the solution to make the next generation to be aware about this and pass it to their next generation as it always be a question to the world especially the GMOs product.
